Unplugged "Santa Ana"

Postby gogarrio » 20 Aug 2010, 03:37

Anyone wanna play rhythm?

OK, I may be about to embarrass myself, but here's only my second video upload ever, and my first of a Shadows number, the glorious "Santa Ana". Alas, no amp, no tremolo bar, no backing track puts me at a serious disadvantage in recreating the '65 Sound of The Shads. I gave it a go nonetheless.

Hi Greg,

Could you tell us what echo patch did you use in this one? It sounds good.

New strings always good. Echo patch, Pancho? You're kidding right? Just my left hand and knee, I suppose. :)

Thanks, Rob! Here's my first video upload, a surf instrumental written by Bobby Fuller. I think I do a better job on it:

Bobby Fuller did some great instrumentals. Neat pickin' 'n' strummin' Greg! Loved it!

2 great tracks there Greg and well played. It's good to see you playing the guitar but it will sound better if you get geared up with an amp and echo.

Barry, thanks. Yes, an amp, please. Sold my last one when we moved to our new home, which shares walls with the neighbors--can't imagine amping up. And no garage. Might have to do my recording overseas. Know any places in Bournemouth?
