Vox AC15 Nightrain

Postby darkie » 18 Oct 2010, 13:00

Is there anyone who is currently using the AC15 Nightrain and if so with which cab.I would be greatful for any info.I am using my Heritage series AC15 which great and have no complaints whatso ever, except for its weight and so it might have to make way for something a little more portable and this looked like a good option....regards...Freddie]

I too have thought about a separate amp top (in the currently-fashionable metal-clad format, so reminiscent of the 1960s Selmer "Twin Lead"), but haven't so far taken the plunge.

I have a Carvin 1x12" cabinet fitted with a Celestion Vintage 30, and I'm sure that any similar cab would handle the output of a 15w amp more than adequately. Epiphone do one which is very similar (fitted with a 70w Eminence speaker) for about £109:

It looks nice too - suggestive of traditional Vox styling without being a copy.

Hope this helps,

Hi Jim, A fellow hankie member has one and uses the vox cab that goes with the night train head, I've tried it and it sounds really good and is far easier to move around, Keith
