Weren't the likes of Alan Jones and Cliff Hall described in The Story of the Shadows as "temporary auxiliary Shadows"? Hank, Bruce and Brian are The Shadows, but after 20+ years, I'd assume that Griff's more family than hired help. Personally, I think the chaps should get every surviving past Shads bassist on stage and do a cover of Big Bottom.

The phrase 'temporary auxiliary Shadows' was coined by the late Steve Gray, sometime keyboard player with Sky and string arranger on 'String of hits' when he wrote a few paras. for the Shadows biographt. Steve, of course, worked regularly with Brian Bennett.

I have noted the chronology of Bass players mentioned but do not seem to see Mo Foster mentioned.
In the book '17 Watts' seems to have played at one time with The Shadows.

http://www.btinternet.com/~shadows_archive/ and click on Mo's photo for a list of "Mo's Shadows Connections" as supplied by Mr Foster himself.
