F. A. B. !!!

Can I heartily recommend the new set of Gerry Anderson stamps that have been released today by the Royal Mail.

They come in a variety of designs, covering all of his Supermarionation shows from Supercar to Joe 90. What is especially noteworthy is the set of four 'moving image' stamps which, when tilted, show the launch sequences of Thunderbirds 1 to 4. There is a very nice presentation pack available for £7.50, which includes all the stamps (about 10) in the range. This pack is really good, opening out into an illustrated interview with Gerry, accompanied by loads of pics of 1960s merchandise. There is also a nice mini-comic which sort of tells the story behind the creation of Thunderbirds. Oh and a little feature by Brains explaining the lenticular process in very simple terms! (Still didn't understand it!!!!)

Now before you wonder if there is any Shadows connection to all this... There is!!! Inside the comic there is a very small, thumbnail drawing, representing the Cliff and the Shadows puppets from the film Thunderbirds are GO!

Knowing that I'm not the only Supermarionation aficionado on this site, I just thought I'd draw this to everyone's attention.

F.A.B. - S.I.G. and all that...

Just picked up the Thunderbirds are go! DVD with Thunderbird 6 for £4.79 on Amazon. Can now dispose of the VHS copy...

DVD doesn't mention Cliff Shads on the cover. Sign of the times?
