I remember Hank having a DiMarzio Fat Strat pickup in the bridge position and a couple of Seymour Duncan's in the middle & neck positions about 20 years ago. Not sure if the Seymours' were Alnico Pro IIs', but I have I set of Pro IIs' on a Strat and they are as good as you can get. I have tried a guitar with the Fat Strat/Seymour combination and I don't like the Fat Strat as it is too muddy.

SSl1 on neck and middle and FS1 on bridge (FS - Fat Strat) They are voiced like a vintage strat pickup with a fatter fuller sound apparently. Heard Daniel Martin using these some months back they sound very nice
