Impromtu performances

Postby Pedro » 08 Mar 2011, 13:33

I have noticed on the occasional times that HBM takes the stage with other artists his performance is a little 'wanting'. Is he outside his comfort zone. I am thinking of for example the Marty wild show and one on TV some time ago where there were many including a guy from the Moody Blues. He was also absent in the final line up in the Strat pack. By the way was I the only one who noticed Pino Paladino gross disapproval of Ron Woods offering??
I hope this post is not deemed a sacrilege and earn me a rosary as penance.

Hi yes i do agree in part . I think the problem is quite simply that Hank sounds his best when he is playing with the "Shadows " the band and backing sounds right ,his sound fits and it sounds just correct and we are used to hearing that .

I'm sure that Albert Lee played a Strat when I saw him in Chris Farlowe & the Thunderbirds at the Fender Club in Harrow all of 48 years ago!!

That was Eddie Allen.

I was struck by the variations in hairstyle - Eddie's long curly style, Roger's ponytail and Neville's er, crop...

Great band.
