Multiple Registrations

An internal audit of the ShadowMusic membership has revealed that a very small minority have registered with more than one username and/or have got someone else to register on their behalf with a different username so they can post messages under different guises.

The system has generated me a list of suspects which I will do nothing with for now. But I will be keeping a close eye on the site and if I find any posts made under a false username, created for misleading purposes, that username and all associated usernames will be restricted or banned.

A couple of members are concerned that their occasional login problems are related to this and that they have been, perhaps, erroneously restricted.

To clarify: Nothing has been done to date and, if there is reason to restrict or ban a user, they will receive an email detailing the fact.

If a user is banned, they will not be able to log on at all, a restricted user can use the board as normal but all posts have to be approved by a moderator before it will appear to the membership.

There are currently no restricted users on ShadowMusic.
