A couple of Shadows websites I hadn't seen before

Postby Rosemary » 11 Apr 2011, 10:22

Not sure if the author of these pages is a member here but he's put a lot of work into compiling and building them and I hadn't seen them before.

*note the URL has the wrong spelling but the content is correct.

It would be great if he built a page for Brian too.

Best wishes

Hi, Wondered where all the visitors were coming from and it seems that this post was the reason. Thanks for the link.

I am writing a series of Lenses ( Squidoo lens = a single page web site) about The Shadows and the boys. I have been a fan since 1960 as I know of lot of guys of my age ( sixty something!!) were. I have registered as a member here and will hopefully be making a few more posts on the forums.

At the moment, I also have a lens which includes the film, "Rythm and Greens". It is shown on three You Tube clips. If you have not seen this, it is worth a little time. Some great songs, shame about the acting. No seriously it was meant to be a slapstick (?) type film and works well if you suspend all you have learnt about history. Make your own mind up!

Oh yes. a lens for Brian is my next project!

And I am so embarrassed about getting Bruce's surname wrong in the URL . I can't change the URL so will have to delete the existing work and redo with a correct spelling, sorry Bruce.

Hi Tim and John

Tim: Glad you liked the links.

John:
Welcome to the site. I wasn't sure if you were a member so it's great you've joined up here where there's always lots of interesting Shadows info and discussion. I've been a member for over a year now. I'm also a long time Shads fan and after seeing them play live last year even took up guitar and spend a lot of time trying to learn Shadows tunes.

It's a shame you can't change the URL with such a little typo. You're doing a great job with the pages. I've never built anything in Squidoo.

Rhythm 'n' Greens is good fun. I'd watch anything with the Shads in it and Robert Morley does the narration. It's good value.

Best wishes

Just watched Rythm & Greens on Youtube as I haven't seen it before and there is a clip with Hank Lighting up a cigarrette. This is the first time I have ever seen Hank smoke. I always thought that Hank and Bruce have always been non-smokers?

They are. Hank probably did it for the film. I once saw an interview with Cliff Richard on Dutch TV, in which Cliff stated that Hank, Bruce and himself were non-smokers and Jet and Tony were.
