I have to say ,and certainly not with any pleasure at all, that in my opinion that overall the show was very disappointing.
I had never heard of the Fabulous Shadows before, but anyone playing Shadows music is always worth a look.
From the opening numbers , the lead player seemed to be having a pretty bad night with fluffed notes, missed timing etc, but his "sound" was awful, nothing like anything I have heard before, and not much like a "Shadows"sound. There was some confusion with the set list and a pretty half hearted attempt at the "walk", abandoned half way through a song.
Second half was pretty much the same , and there were quite a few empty seats after the interval. They just seemed to me to be unrehearsed, which given the £16 ticket price seems a little bit off. Plus points were definately the drummer and particularly bassist, who definately held the whole thing together.

Welcome on board - it's good to hear from a new (new to us here !!) shads fan who can contribute to the discussions and info on here.

Its a great idea to tell us a bit about yourself and your background at the start - are you a player or just a fan? There are some great clubs around the country we can point you in the direction of and there are some very professional bands playing shads material - whereabouts are you based?
