I think a lot of us here over a certain age were first inspired by Bert and although he was never quite as "cool" or "rock n roll" as Hank and his contemporaries who quickly followed, his musicianship cannot be questioned and I think most of us here still hold him in high esteem.
I hope he had a great day.

Happy Birthday, Bert
I am one of the MILLIONS who learned to "Play In A Day".
I also have fond recollections of "Stranger Than Fiction", "Ginchy" and "Guitar Boogie Shuffle".
"There Is A Tavern In The Town" gave me a mountain to climb in my first year as a beginner.
I thought I'd NEVER be able to play "F"!!!

Enjoy your day
