I never saw Hank Marvin live. Apparently he rarely,if ever played a wrong note.

The Shadows guitar style was never the most 'groundbreaking' even in the sixties.Never too complex. However I think that Hank's influence was as great as some other star players. He must have inspired many thousands of young people in the UK alone, to take up the guitar.

He sometime did, but very rarely in public performances.

It was cetainly the most 'groundbreaking' in the early sixities, not because it was complex, but because the sound was well above the others, and because of the band's musical cohesion.

However I think that Hank's influence was as great as some other star players. He must have inspired many thousands of young people in the UK alone, to take up the guitar.

He certainly did, and not in the UK alone !

On the 2004 UK tour at the De Montfort Hall Leicester he played a big one 2 bars wrong on Theme For Young Lovers .
