I remember buying this LP from Woolworths in Stratford, East London in probably 1977, I was 9 at the time. I was aware that it was much cheaper than most of the other albums and was just happy that my pocket money actually covered buying a "Shadows" album. My Mum did mention that it probably wasn't the actual Shadows, but still had to have it. I still have the album but have not played it since that time. I was quite impressed with it though.

I found this tape in my collection,it`s dated 1971 there are no Shadows tunes on it but it`s pleasant to listen to.There are no musicians listed so I would assume that they are all session guitarists.Does anyone know the date of The Tribute to The Shadows was released.

The Decca one has arrangements by Johnny Keating and I suspect has absolutely no connection with the Woolworths LP. "Guitars unlimited" is a kind of obvious name for such an anonymous aggregartion of sessioneers. Indeed, somewhere I have an album of Latin tunes called "Quiet nights and Brazilian guitars" played by an ensemble which includes Howard Roberts, Tommy Tedesco and Laurindo Almeida, the band being credited as ... "Guitars unlimited"
