I'm so sad to hear this news- as has been said so many times, a fantastic musician, and above all, great human being..... my abiding memory of him was when I was playing 'Blue Sky, Blue Sea, Blue Me' at one of the early Bristol U-Play days, he rushed out of the audience, plugged in his bass and joined in- his love for the music of the Shadows was very clear for all to see.... he also stood in on bass guitar the first time 'Bungleflint' played Blackpool- great man, and a sad loss....

Devastating news... a giant in more than one sense of the word.

The world will be a poorer place without him, but richer for all the music that he created which will live on. So now it's up to us to play his music often and remember him with a sense of joy and affection.

We send our love to Dave and share her sadness...

I first met Hoss at Shadowmania 2001 Friday night get together. I just happened to be on the mixing desk when Hoss came across and gave me his backing CD with the instruction to keep my eye on his right hand wilst he was playing. If he waved it up in the air I had to turn up his volume. If he waved it down low I had to turn his volume down. He came across for his CD after his three numbers and said " still not enough volume did you watch my hand? I said yes Hoss it sounded great, which it did. I met Hoss several times since and he always started with "your not on the mixing. are you?
RIP Hoss.

This is sad. Hoss was a very kind man, and I received a couple of his CD's too.
