Excellent, though I had the devil of a job getting the sand out of the wine...

Nice analogy John!! I happen to know that story but I would never have thought of using it here so very appropriately. You and Justin and many other younger members here are a great combination of wisdom and maturity as well as youthful optimism, and I am so glad we have you !! :)

Justin is correct! He's young and full of enthusiasm for the music, as are the "Foottappers" a young band with loads of talent. I have over the years seen a number of "young" guitarists playing Shadows music and their talent puts me to shame!
We must encourage the next generation to keep the music alive and this forum is an excellent tool in that respect.
Everyone is entitled to an opinion but surely it can be expressed in a manner acceptable to all. No need for "nasty" comments - we are grown ups after all! ;)

I too feel refreshed with the response contained in Justin's eloquent post regarding the pleasure he gets and his wish to promote the music we all so enjoy - long may the youngsters carry the torch onwards.

John's reminder of what life's all about and the priorities that mustn't be allowed to be ignored is also a timely reminder.

Many thanks to you both.

We are priviledged to have the opportunity of enjoying a historic tour that many longed for but never thought would materialise.

We've now had the farewell Shadows tour and are now enjoying the final curtain on Cliff and The Shadows Reunion - some 50 years after they formed - really miraculous1

All we need now other than the DVD of the tour is for the BBC to get their act together and sort out "The Shadows at The BBC" and the pleasures will be complete - pigs might fly someone will say - but they did for Pink Floyd!
