Apart from backing Cliff Richard as a group, The Shadows' members have contributed to a lot of Cliff's recordings individually, either during the Cliff & The Shads period (1958-1968) or from 1969 onwards. Familiar examples are of course "Throw Down A Line" and "The Joy Of Living" by Cliff & Hank, but also less familiar tracks, like "Love, Truth And Emily Stone", which also features Hank, but is not credited as such.
I understand that very early on, Tony Meehan was featured on the 1959 "Cliff Sings" album, not only on the eight Cliff & The Shadows tracks, but also as drummer as part of Norrie Paramor's orchestra on the eight 'ballads' on the album. I think he was also the only Shadow to be featured on "Beat Out That Rhythm On A Drum", included on the 1961 "Listen To Cliff!" album.
In 1969, 1970 and 1971, Brian Bennett was also featured on several of Cliff's lesser known singles, one of which was "She's Leaving You", the B-side to "Big Ship", which Brian also wrote and conducted.
Brian was very heavily involved in Cliff's recordings in the second half of the 1970's, from Cliff's 1976 album "I'm Nearly Famous" to the 1978 "Green Light" and all associated singles.
Does anybody have definitive list of recordings which feature individual Shadows?
