http://www.eurovisionshop.tv/shop/

Hi. Your question was very intriguing, so I spent a few minutes searching the internet to try to help. I found the official site of the Eurovision Contest. A URL appears above. They have a webpage called The Official Webshop of the Eurovision Song Contest -- I am hoping it might have the DVD you're looking for. The webshop requires a user name and password to be set up, which I cannot do on the computer I am using at the moment.

The only other thing I could find were a few Eurovision DVDs for sale on http://www.amazon.co.uk and also http://www.amazon.com which might be worth a look.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes,
Donna

There are DVD-Rs available of The Lulu Show (BBC Television - subtitled "A Song For Europe" and broadcast 15th February 1975).

It has all six songs The Shadows performed and offered to the public for a vote (ie, the six vocals from the "Specs Appeal" album). The line-up is Marvin / Welch / Bennett / Farrar / Tarney.

Is that what you meant, or did you mean the entire 1975 Eurovision show (won by Dutch vocal group "Teach-In")?

Hi Donna,
The incident with Bruce and the mic has been described by him in print. Basically, there was very little time between one act finishing and the next one setting up during live Eurovision. Maybe things are even more efficient / slicker nowadays. But.....as Bruce recalls the technicians only managed to set the Shadows' mics and rush out of camera shot literally seconds before their performance started. Bruce's mic hadn't quite been postioned / fixed properly and it literally fell off the stand as their performance commenced. As Bruce euphemistically put out (ie when you're going out live with c. 400,000,000+ people watching).."That kind of thing is bad for the nerves!!!" To his eternal credit....it did not throw his superb vocal performance.

Rob :)

http://www.amazon.com/Eurovision-Greatest-Hits-Cornelia-Froboess/dp/B00009VGRM/ref=pd_sim_m_1

Product Details
Actors: Cornelia Froboess, Cliff Richard, The Shadows, New Seekers, Brotherhood of Man
Format: Import, NTSC
Language: English
Region: All Regions

Amazon.com does have the 1975 Eurovision Contest entry by The Shadows, as per the URL above. However, it is not the LuLu Show as was mentioned afterwards.

I regret having embedded the Eurovision video from YouTube when I asked about whether Hank's and John's guitars ever got caught up together...I should have chosen one of the many other performances of Let Me Be The One. The Eurovision video was a very poor choice on my part. My admiration of Bruce is second to none.

Best wishes,
Donna

Donna,
Your admiration / respect for Bruce is second to none! Bruce's (& the rest of the Shads too) Eurovision performance was all the more remarkable considering the ineptitude of the technician who set up the mics. Plus, I did wonder for a while (at the time) why on earth Bruce seemed to be playing bass! :)

Bests.....Rob
