Thanks, Hans! I liked that, although I would guess that there are a number here that don't! OK - if I HAD to choose, I'd probably "go" for a more Shadows-style treatment of FBI, but hey!, thankfully I DON'T have to choose. As someone said on the old forum "Music is an Artform - NOT a competition!" Regards Paul
P.S. Would FBI sound like this if BEN Marvin was playing it?
It was OK by me, too- I've often had it sound a bit like that when I get wound up and loud on stage after a few strong ales between sets...!
At least he was not afraid to play it ,and equally perhaps not too bothered by being considered "uncool" in doing so.....the late Mick was obviously a Hank fan at some stage in his younger days...
I like things to sound different from time to time, it was good I thought. After all, Hank competely changed Parisian Walkways to his clean sound,so why not change FBI to distortion
OK - not Hank...but what a great heavy rock version. Mick & the band were clearly enjoying playing it & the audience response was excellent. I enjoyed it! Thanks for drawing the clip to our attention. I recall that when Black Sabbath were appearing in Russia about 20 years or so ago that Tony Iommi launched into a very heavy version of "Apache". Now, I wonder if anyone ever filmed that??
i remember Hank covering FBI on one of his concerts to a distortion style,it came from the Tribute to Hank and The Shadows album, brian may, status quo, that was a good version.
