Carpal tunnel effects..... MEDICAL

I had this operation done in March on my right hand and someone said I wasn't playing The Cruel Sea as I usually did last Tuesday and it set me thinking.
He was right, I wasn't and it was because of this op that has left my hand and ,particularly, my thumb,somewhat weaker.
I've had to start playing with a pleck again much to my chagrin and crawler Bakewell's delight.
Anyone else had it done ?
Will it get back to what it was ?

The cob that hit Ray smack on the forehead was an accident.
I didn't deliberately hit him full in the mush.
I don't know what caused my carpal tunnel, in fact it might not be exclusively this.
I have to go see the quack tomorrow about trigger thumb on the same hand.
I had this done on the left some years back and this clickey thumb business is quite painful.
