He will be greatly missed.
It only leaves Max Bygraves out of the gaggle of ex-servicemen who initially trod the boards under the auspices of ENSA who successfully transitioned to the variety theatres of the day after World War II & actually made the big time & is still with us, all be it living in Australia.
A great loss indeed.

I *think* the play was Big Bad Mouse. I remember seeing it in Glasgow - both the leads ad-libbed to such an extent that you could not tell what was scripted and what was not. RIP Eric Sykes, a comic genius...
