NORTH NOTTS CLUB

Postby Graham C. Marshall » 21 May 2013, 11:54

The Curry Boys, an informal band of rock musicians from East Yorkshire, fulfilled their long held individual ambitions to play some of the tunes of The Shadows. Courtesy of Pete and the gang at North Notts, this happened at the recent 10th Anniversary meeting. Ed Vindaloo, guitarist, chose Foot Tapper; Mike Madras, bass, chose Wonderful Land and Poppadom Paul, drums, chose Round And Round. They finished off thir brief set with a semi improvised Ska version of The Savage.

Poppadom Paul was a regular player at North Notts until he joined a pro tribute band eighteen months ago. For him it was just a question of delving into his capacious music memory and meeting some old friends.

Ed., Mike and Paul were truly delighted by their reception and hope to make another trip to Whitwell; not only to play but to tuck in to some of Laura's superb baking (you really must try it).
