Alan, you may find View Active Topics a useful option. All new posts are there, no matter which board they've been posted on, along with older ones that have had new answers, and they're arranged in descending order of last posting time. All you need do is work down the list until the posting time shown matches your previous look at the site. That way you won't miss anything.
