HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO US!

At yesterday's meeting of the West Of Wales Shadows & Guitar Club, we celebrated our fourth birthday! Not bad going for a small club in an out-of-the-way location. Doreen, on the left of the picture, baked a lovely walnut birthday cake in addition to the usual gateaux that she provides every meeting.

Ken Gilbert (on the right) and myself (centre) started the club in 2009 and Doreen, who didn't play at all, came just to listen with husband, Billy, Now she plays solo and with her live band, Doreen and the Dudes, with Billy as their sound tech! Our next meeting is 2.00pm, Saturday 16th November, Rhydlewis Village Hall, and the cost is only £3 which includes all the cake, biscuits and jaffa cakes you can eat and a never-ending supply of tea, coffee and soft drinks. Oh, and we play some music, too!

Why not make the trip and join us? - like Jackie and Richard of South Wales Shadows Club, who often come up from Cardiff.

We forgot to sing 'Happy Birthday'! It was, nevertheless, a happy 'birthday' with a record attendance, some new faces and a wide variety of music styles.
