Will it last

We all love the sounds of the shads and the 60s . We go into great detail about what things sounded like 50 years ago and have invested heavily trying to keep that sound accurate and alive.
Are there new people interested in this sound or will it just die away over the next few years
What will we do with all this gear . My kids love it and grand kids love riders in the sky and footapper cos it's played a lot

Is an Intrumental radio station feasible ? Or is there one already

Looking back, the instrumental period and also the surf music period which coincidentaly was at the same time was short lived only lasting a few years in the early 60s and was pushed aside more or less overnight with Beatlemania and although the Shadows and the Beatles were good friends, a lot of instrumental fans were bias against The Beatles. It revived again by the mid 70s when The Shadows came back to being what they used to be instead of the MWF thing and fans have kept the style of music going up until these times which is a lot of years. Unfortunately nothing lives forever so all we can do is keep it going for as long as possible.
Never heard of any instrumental radio station? but would be a good idea or even once a week on an existing station, combined with surf music (spring reverb instead of tape echo) from across the pond.

The way music has changed... there would have to be a Shadows week on Xfactor...and thats not going to happen, Although it wouldnt be too late to see Cliff and The Shads winning the next eurovision........now theres a thought !

Im sure it will last, great music never dies and you just have to look at the number of young players there are around at the moment, Robson Field, Peter Ravenhill, Danny Godley, Justin Daish, Zoe Mcculloch, Daniel Martin, are all flying the flag for this sort of music and thats just the ones we know about, there are a large number on youtube Chloe Chalmers for instance, the music is timeless and i think its in pretty safe hands with all of the aforementioned.

I'm sure it will last. Music from long before the 1960s has survived in popularity and interest. For example I am very much into music from the 1920s and 1930s, and because it is great music and has a lot of depth to it, and has been preserved surprisingly well on recordings, it hasn't died out. I'm not saying it is thriving but it will always exist for those who are interested in it. 1960s music both on film and record is so much better preserved and there is so much of it - you only have to turn on the 'Vintage' TV channel. And also it's great in its own right!

The music loved by us on this forum, will I think return to the spotlight every so often. It is still there in popular culture, eg. in those adverts for microwave meat snacks currently being shown, and Richard Hawley's collaboration with Hank Marvin.
