SOT: Beatles Bootleg Recordings 1963

What's the verdict?

Some great previously unheard material in there and the outtakes are obviously really great quality recordings and a brief insight into those sessions, but the BBC recordings are obviously of a lesser standard.

however £35 on iTunes .....

Blatant profiteering??? or Great Value for 59 tracks ??? pls discuss

I'm still tempted though ..............

On checking the track listing ,its all been available on Beatles Bootleg issues you see at Record Fairs , Market Stalls etc
Looks to be an overpriced rip off to boost I Tunes profit before Christmas!!!
At least the recent Beatles at The BBC cd issues are fairly priced and legal!!!

I downloaded many Beatles outtakes from a bit torrent site, and a stereo version of the Please Please Me album with vocals in the middle - how was that done I wonder?

I had all of this except the Money mix which was an earlier mix of the released take minus the piano.
I think it's a great idea except
1. They need to get the details right on where the tracks come from ! duh !
2. Lossy quality sucks. flac or other lossless demanded.
3. It is a bit expensive but given what i've spent on/downloaded illegal beatle product over the last 35 years i'm happy to donate to the actual musicians. If enough people buy this it will send the money signal to the vault goblins and the doors will open again maybe with something i don't have.
4. Crapple really need to get their bit together. They and "the board" appear clueless as to what they have and what can be done in the digital age.
5. The Brian Wilson set The Big Beat is also excellent and significantly cheaper. And not yet available in the uk cue teeth gnashing
6. I am not a number i am a free man
7. I would prefer the opportunity to have a physical copy of this release. There again if it was available for download in cd quality i'd burn my own.
8. Does anyone here think the Shads would even consider such a venture ? (no i hear you shout)
9. number 9, number 9, number 9, number 9
