Some while back I had Alan Brason make a neck for my '57 vintage reissue Strat and decided to have 22 frets fitted.
I seem to remember needing the 22nd fret for one or two of the later Shads numbers but until last Sunday at our monthly
meeting at the Devon and West-Country Shadows Club I had never tried playing "My Resistance is Low".
Having 22 frets the tune presented no problem, but it occurred to me that Hank only had 21 frets on 34346 so how did he play
the damped ending notes?
I guess that the answer is that because the notes are damped, you can merely place your finger lightly over where the 22nd fret
should be but I don't remember the subject being discussed before now.
