Hey Ho...and here we go.....
I was purely relating a comment that was made to me some years back. Personally speaking, I have no problem with DR strings as I've never had the need or inclination to try them. I rarely have to buy strings as I'm fortunately still using up all the D'Addario & Fender sets that I used to win for writing the Star Letters, subscriptions etc., in various guitar magazines over the years. I've stated previously that I'm no great obsessive when it comes to certain bits of kit and I'd add the make of strings to the list that includes trying endless makes of pickups, the quest for the most accurately perceived Fiesta Red and every new echo box that comes on the market. I must be easily pleased.....
Then again, I'm sure that my ears , eyes & overall taste are nowhere near as sensitive as many of the members that post on here.
Stephen.

I've lost count over the years of professional pronouncements I've read about this piece of gear, that amp, this guitar, these strings. Sometimes (not always), there are business reasons for some of them. It's impossible to tell in most cases, and for that reason, I too prefer to try things for myself.

Fortunately, strings aren't too much of an individual investment, and the single set of John Pearse strings I've bought were (and remain) excellent and well worth the money, in my opinion. A few years ago, I managed to get a few sets of the heavier gauges in DR strings at a good price, and I have no complaints about those at all.

There are some makes of strings which - whatever their illustrious past and heritage - I would not dream of buying today. But on the basis of "one man's meat...", I prefer not to say too much about those.
