In 1962, we just listened to the record over and over again and worked it out!!!

Back in the day man used to come out of his cave and hunt for food now we just go to ASDA, that's progress for ya !

Don't know if this is of any interest, but I sometimes use a program called riffstation. It's like the olden days of listening to a track and working it out, but with the added bonus of being able to set repeat loops for sections, being able to slow it down but maintain pitch, and equalise the main melody to make it more prominent for learning. It can also make an attempt to work out the chords and display them as a track is playing, useful for rhythm players (this is sometimes inaccurate-but you can amend the chords and save the amended version of the chord sequence). I think it was about £30.

Another idea to check might be to see if you can get a midi file of the tune you are after (there are loads of Shadows midis about), and see if there is a midi to tab or midi to music score software app to show you the notes (although this won't have the subtleties of the playing that Hank uses)
