Very sad news, he was only 58.
No one will ever forget one of his most famous composition : "Parisienne Walkways", which the Shadows recorded for their album "String of Hits" in 1979.

What sad news. I went to the Bath Guitar Festival a few years back and they had an Eric Clapton evening at Bath Pavilion where they auctioned a Fender Strat signed by EC. No-one in the audience knew who was going to appear (not Eric!) which made it very exciting but we were all blown away when Gary Moore appeared and, of course, played his socks off.
RIP.
