Alert at Ensenada, Baja California

Postby RUSSET » 11 Jan 2012, 12:58

Hi Chaps,
Just found this strange letter on t'internet warning about an impending disaster affecting Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico. As most of us will know, this city, which is on the Pacific coast just south of the US/Mex border, is where Fender manufactures it's Mexican made ranges of guitars & basses, & probably supplies most of Fender's actual worldwide production from this state of art facility. Let's hope that this letter is not what it suggests.

All very interesting, and taking account of the Mails assertion from scientists (a couple of weeks ago), that the world as we know it, will not exist by the year 2050 due to the natural depletion in resources, increase in population etc. looks like more than Mexico is heading for disaster.

Deliveries of Fender amp cabinets were still getting through from Ensenada to Corona, CA, last October (two months after the "event")...

Is this document genuine? Or is it designed, just to scare a large number of people?
Slightly off-topic, but last week on the news, there was talk of the supervolcano under the Laacher See in the west of Germany, possibly becoming active. Some scientists acknowledged this, others denied it, because CO2 bubbles escape for decades and is nothing special. The Maya's have calculated the end of the calendar on December 21st, 2012. Some people link this with a possible destruction of Earth. I don't know what to think of all this.

I see it is all over the internet, but almost entirely on what I think could be described as "dodgy" sites. I suspect it is rubbish !

Typo on the heading date already spotted by the website. It was the word, Ensenada. that caught my attention. I thought; I know that name. Yes, there is already a ton of BS about the year 2012 already about on the web, most of which we would be sensible to ignore. Let's hope it is just another one of those silly stories.

I don't know which is more weird. The fact that this nonsense is taken seriously or the fact that the concern it raises is about Fender's capability to build guitars!

I wouldn't want to see the end of the world as we know without a decent amp.

The scientists are always quick to protect the people, the energy sources and the food, but nobody ever thinks about the musical instruments.
