Stratpack Concert Brian May

Forgive me if this has been asked and answered previously.

If the Stratpack concert was a celebration of the anniversary of the Fender Stratocaster, why didn't Brian May play one?

A bit pointless him being there when you think about it. The whole idea was a celebration of the Strat. Maybe he could have played one just for the day to recognise it's importance in Guitar history.

Exactly Tony. as Albert Lee did, putting his Music Man on one side for the day.

Where was Eric Clapton? He's been using Fenders on and off for the last 45 years. Maybe he was unavailable.
Also, where was Hank at the finale? He was nowhere to be seen.

Alan - Brian May DID play one - at least in the early set with the Crickets.
When he played with Paul Rodgers, later in the show, he was using his 'Red Special'.

Clapton probably wanted too much bread.

Re Hank - I know - I was disappointed too - though these big 'jam' sessions can get a bit messy.

He was probably at Heathrow - getting ready to fly back to Perth!

Jeff Beck was billed to appear at this show - but he had to pull out for some reason
