There are some good amateur videos from Bruce Welch's Shadows at Shadowmania, but it's a pity that no professional videos were done for a DVD or Blu Ray...

I extracted the audio and burnt to CD, which sounded great in my car!

I've always thought that Cliff can thank his resurgence in the 70's to Bruce's studio production values.

I, perhaps, can understand someone's wish to see "professionally" produced videos of the S/Mania events; but the truth is that Bruce did us all a great favour in allowing us unrestricted use of video and still cameras which gave hundreds of us some wonderful memories. And for those of us less impressed by our own efforts, we have only to search Youtube for Phil McG's and Gillians brilliant capture(s) of these remarkable events. Thanks, once again, Bruce, Gillian and Phil.

When I mentionned "good amateur videos", I was thinking about those, and Phil and Gillian must be thanked again for that, but there are limits to sound quality with videos made this way, this is why I regret the lack of professional filming with more important means for sound.

Hi. I wanted to thank Gary A. for this thread - April Fool's or not - because it really gave me a good laugh. From the moment I saw the title of the thread to the world-record time I set for "point-and-click" with the computer mouse to open it, because for a moment I actually thought Bruce had a CD coming out. I was ready to buy the CD before the thread actually displayed on my screen, and then I got the joke. It was great!

I thought I would post two more videos, for Peter in particular, of Bruce's two songs. As others have already said, "Please Mr. Please" was recorded by Olivia Newton-John and was very popular in the US as well as other countries. "Song of Yesterday" was recorded by Sir Cliff and is on one of his albums, not as a single but either a b-side or just simply a song on the album. I always like to hear songs the way they were recorded by the person who wrote them, and then compare them to other arrangements by other people. I just find that an interesting science.

Becoming a Shadows fan changed my life. It not only gave me a great catalogue of music to listen to (50+ years of music) but it also opened my eyes and ears to other artists that had some connection to them. For example, not only do most of the Shadows have solo albums under their own name, but people like Bruce and also Alan Tarney worked with other artists (Leo Sayer, etc.) and I expanded my music library accordingly.

Cheers,
Donna
