Didier,

Those bands you mention and many other bands are out there waiting to play gigs but I don't think Lakeside have any idea who to book and they're booking just any band and they're putting the show on for the general public and not as a specialised event for Shadows fans. Tilburg, Verden, Nyborg (for Shadowdania) and other places have always been a source of bands for a Shadows event and it needs someone with the knowledge to select some bands for the Lakeside event.

Will it happen? No one knows but if there is no improvement in the quality of bands and the sound system this year then I think that will be the end of Lakeside as a Shadows fan event.

Will you pass this on to Lakeside Derek?

Another thing to remember, a lot of bands played 'for Bruce' as it was his event. Many drove handreds of miles, because air fares were not included, they got their accommodation at Lakeside, in addition to a very modest fee. I know of bands who were losing money from paying gigs, by accepting Bruce's invitation to play at Shadowmania. I'm not sure that you would get that sort of commitment from bands invited to play at what is essentially a large Shadows Club event akin to Scarborough or Tyneside for example.
The selection of bands available, is not too great but there are some who if they are available on the date, would be available to play, but would the punters travel the distance and pay the money for that level of entertainment? Only time will tell.
