More like Spotnicks , the same kind of bottom of the barrel scraping sound, only useful for shattering glass....![]()

Whatever you want to call èm...
Vintage Rock magazine published 2011 in their premier issue an excellent several pages long article on the subject.
" In 2011 classic surf guitar celebrates it`s 50th anniversary. It`s a cult passion"
Quote : "Surf- whatever the bands liked the term or not - was spreading even to unlikely places such as Finland. Rautalanka was a style of instrumental guitar popular in Finland in the early `60s ("rautalanka"" is Finnish for iron wire) ; early hit Emma by the Sounds (1963) is half surf / half Ventures and Shadows, but great nonetheless. Japan had its own "Eleki" genre."
Unfortunately this issue has been long out of print, but here`s a chance to own one. http://www.vintagerockmag.com/2014/12/w ... issue-one/
The same issue has another article of interest "Jet Harris, one of the Shadows bad boy`s last interviews"
