I've got a feeling that the acoustic version of 'Genie.....' only exists as an acetate, if the sound quality of the Magic Records copy i have is anything to go by, it's really just a rough demo anyway.

Not so. It was released on an Italian LP (having presumably been released by the EMI tape archive in error).

All official CD issues have used the original 1965 Italian "Hallo Shadows" mono LP as the source for this track. As the master tape was sent by mistake, as was the alternative version of "All Day" on the 1966 Japanese "Thunderbirds Are Go!" LP, it is very unlikely that these two tracks will ever be officially released on CD, taken directly from the master tapes.
