Bill,

When I saw Tommy here in Adelaide late last June, at one point in his show, he said "I'm now going to play unplugged".

After a few ironic laughs from the audience, he unplugged his acoustic from his sound system, removed the rubber disc feedback buster thingo from the sound hole, and sat down in front of a microphone, then he played Duke Ellington's "C-Jam Blues", and "Nuages" and "Tears", both being Django tunes- this for me was the best part of his show that night- pure straight incredible guitar playing- with no effects or tricks.

That particular show had been postponed from the previous week, because Tommy has a congenital heart problem which gave him a scare and an emergency trip to hospital on the originally scheduled night of the concert.

If you check out his gig list on his website, he's working himself like mad- let's hope he looks after his health and takes some rest soon.

'Roach,

The man has talent, that's for sure -and he's one of nature's true gentlemen too, which sadly seems to be rare thing with many top artists these days.......

However, since this thread is about Hank after all, I suppose we should get 'back on subject' perhaps? Sorry for the diversion......... :(

Bill,
Thank you for posting that performance. Amazing - just amazing!
I seem to recall one of the brothers ( maybe Phil) included a Shadows track on an early CD.
They also acknowledge an early influence from our Kiwi guitar hero, Peter Posa, who had a local hit
with a Scottish and Irish Medley way back in the mid 60's.
Seasons's Greetings,
JB
