I'm with Frank and David!
They went out on a high...
For what it's worth... I wouldn't be happy if my customers after 10 years in my retirement ask me to do the same job in exactly the same way as I did at the start of my working life....

Cheers Rob

...Although, of course, if they did decide that they weren't all sufficiently 'past it' to go on stage and give a good performance and announced a final gig or two at, say, the RAH, we'd all be pleased. Right?

I'd be apprehensive. As the old showbiz adage has it, always leave them wanting more.

Only 2 years until they could do a celebratory 60th tour

I'd wonder whether they could still do it, age comes to us all. You can't stop father time, they're all now in their mid 70's but then again that hasn't stopped people like the Stones so if they could why not?
I know Bruce is keen but not sure about the rest of the guys.

The Rolling Stones do still perform, but I have heard they have a backup band behind the curtains. If that's true or not I don't know, but if so, then it's a phoney situation.

Not sure if lefjie is being serious or not.........but surely not. Mind you, the last time i saw them on TV live a year or two again Keith Richards spent most of the gig just wandering around the stage and played little.

I feel they should leave on the real high of the Cliff reunion tour which spawned such great reviews and the really great DVD.

Some of the older guys I've seen recently should be stopping before they get too embarrassing and spoil their legacy. Not their fault as we all get old - no names no pack drill, but they should be told by someone close if they don't realise it themselves.

Would hate to see the Shads struggle - mind you if they were to re-create the 'old' original sound - - - - - ?!?!?!

I watched Sir Elton John on BBC Two in concert the other night, his piano playing was great and his band were fine, but his voice was quite different to the Elton John I remembered, all deep and 'growly' nothing like his old voice !

Sir Paul McCartney's voice isn't what it used to be either, while Cliff's last album sounded to me as if his voice isn't quite what it was

they CAN all still sing...but it isn't the same sound anymore due to age... :(

I think what happens is the top of their vocal range goes....hence they don't sound the same singer !

I recall years ago a school chum's father who was a big Bing Crosby fan telling me;
'he's rubbish now, his voice went about ten years ago and he's just 'croaking' now compared to his older sound...' (!!)

seems a number of 'our era' stars are now reaching that stage too - Time gets to everyone and maybe it's wise to go out with dignity on a high...
