Terribly sad news. I had the privilege of meeting Jet several times in the 1990s it was he who inspired my first web site. What I shall remember is a very kind and considerate man who always had time for others. I remember being with him at a Hank Marvin concert when several fans kept stopping him to ask for autographs. Not only did he agree to all the requests, he found time to chat with all of them. R I P A true gentleman who will be sadly missed, not just for his music.

As Colin Pryce - Jones used to say - the word legend is bandied around too freely nowadays. Jet Harris was one of the genuine legends of the music world. Like all of us I am devastated to hear this very sad news. I knew that Jet was seriously ill.....but I hadn't realised that he was close to death. Jet inspired so many bass guitarists. Despite all of his problems in life he always had time for the fans and was always very modest about his achievements. I can't write more at the moment. God bless you Jet. One half of the original Shadows now gone. Jet & Tony will soon be reunited beyond this world. My sincere condolences to Janet and all of Jet's close family and friends.

RIP Jet
