I've decided to enter the banking business. Here's a picture of my first branch...

…but actually, this is a very serious point which concerns me. Can any member of this group confirm that they have licensed the right to the use of the Shadows silhouette logo, which is used copiously in their publicity material? If not, the band is in serious breach of copyright and anyone who wanted to take the trouble to do so could seek an injunction to stop that usage.

I also have serious concerns about the name. Simply inserting 'Fabulous' (in very small print, into 'The Shadows', is not enough to differentiate the name. How long do you think NatWest would allow me to keep my bank open, do you think?

The BOOTLEG Beatles have got away with it for decades.

Fair point, Ecca, but I think the term "bootleg" is pretty well associated with the image of "counterfeit" (however it is spelled) and therefore there is a strong implication that they are imitators rather than the real thing, inserting the word "fabulous" on the other hand implies the real thing with added gloss!! I am sure that if one listens to enough old recordings of radio, TV or live performances the "genuine" Shadows will have been introduced on occasions as The fabulous Shadows, although I cnnot recall any specific examples. The rather sad part of all this IMHO is that, reading the recent reviews, a rather poor tribute band is getting more publicity than all the others :( , many of whom I suspect are more deserving - I am impressed by what I have seen of the Silver Shadows on their YouTube videos :) . Hey Ho!!

Can someone tell me what is the purpose of continually knocking this band? Every time they post something, whether it's here or on eBay, the same people (including site managers) want to 'have a go'. They are after all, doing this for charity so if you don't want to support them, don't go, it's that simple and if they are as bad as some people say, then others won't attend their concerts and they will soon dry up, but to keep this going is so childish. I know that not a lot happens here now (and this is one reason why), but why not go and practise your playing and if you don't play, here's a saying that my father used to tell me, "if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all". :(

On the contrary Alan, I have stayed out of this for a long time, because it sometimes seem like a witch hunt is being conducted. However, I felt I could no longer stay silent about the way this band appears to be blatantly exploiting names and, particularly, trade marks, and breaching copyrights, which is an area particularly sensitive to my business.

If the band has been given permission to do all this and holds the necessary licenses, then I wholeheartedly apologise, but I don't believe that is the case.

Please note, I am not criticising the band as musicians. I am pointing out what appears to be a serious copyright breach.
