Here you go. D/load one of these applications which will alter the speed without altering the pitch. Any problems let me know.

The reason you're having trouble with Real Player is that you need the commercial (paid for version) These ones are free. I'm surprised no one other than the two of us have given you more help on this simple basic subject. Left you to struggle when it's so easily solved--but there you go. :(

You don't actually have to download the youtube vid using Realplayer, just play the vid in youtube and record it in whatever software at the same time. 'Audacity' says it can both record live audio and alter the speed or pitch of a recording, and it's also free.

You may have to set your computer/sound card to record 'what it hears' which isn't the default setting - at least it isn't on mine. How you do that may depend on your system, but probably through control panel.

I ended up with the free 'Youtube downloader', in which you only have to paste the Youtube url,
then convert it to mp3 in the same program. Put it in a file.
Then open it in the free 'Audacity' program and change it to -50%. Works.

I just found a much better (free) program: VLC Media player. All in one, plus good EQ. Check it out.
