Congratulations to all involved with the organisation of Jet's Tribute Show.
I only wish I could have been there but unfortunately Sydney is just a bit too distant.
John, your painting is really fantastic. You have captured Jet's image perfectly.
Have you given any consideration to possibly producing any prints or is this a strictly one-off for a very special evening.
Kind regards to all, especially Janet and Audrey.

Whilst I can't answer for John, I for one would gladly purchase a limited edition print (if it were to happen) of this magnificent portrait of Jet in his pomp. Suitably framed it would look wonderful in the house and (along with the fantastic musical legacy) it would be a lovely permanent reminder of Jet Harris.

Thank you Ian and Rob for your great comments of the portrait; from my point of view it is very humbling and rewarding when I hear views such as this on my paintings. Ian, there is already a painting of mine in Australia of a Spitfire !

The original of Jet is a unique one-off for the evening but, if there was enough interest I would consider doing a limited signed and numbered edition of 100. I have already had enquiries about the idea so further interest would certainly make this viable. These would be high quality gliche prints to either A4 or A3 size (or original size?), unframed as you could choose the framing yourself and it would make postage and packing a lot cheaper. I could arrange framing though at an extra cost.

You decide: is there enough demand? which size? over to you.

I will keep you all in touch with the response so let me know if you would like one. Should the demand be good then first come first served would apply and you would get an email reserving your limited edition number.

Many thanks for showing this interest.

Purely on a personal level - I would prefer any print to be more or less the same size as the original. A4 certainly wouldn't do it justice....if the size HAD to be smaller then I would humbly suggest that A3 would be the absolute minimum - but original size would be best (IMHO). The fact that almost 100 people who saw the original at Amersham were keen to buy tickets to win the painting says it all I think. Hope you get a good response John - either directly on here or via PM. Might it be worth kicking off a separate thread? Over to you my friend.

Rob :D

OK Rob, I'll make a new posting shortly and we'll take it from there.

Anybody interested in a print should contact me through the new link when it is posted.

Thank you.

A very thorough report Rob and it was nice to meet you again there for a brief chat.

It certainly was a fine show with much effort put in by all concerned. I particularly enjoyed Keith Powell's and Russ Sainty's sets. Even if Russ didn't always get the lyrics spot on he projected the feel of the numbers well and, of course, The Rapiers' truly accurate backings sealed the performance.

Alan was a true professional on Jet's Fender VI and played effortlessly, even though he had apparently never played that instrument before.

Colin was his usual approachable and affable self and we had a good chat about our respective Fender VIs.

I must echo Rob's praise of Nathan Hulse's Nivram solo. He must have played it so many times before but on that night it had to be something special and it really was the business.

A really enjoyable show, albeit due to the saddest of circumstances, and I'm glad I was able to be there (but disappointed I didn't win the portrait!).
