Interesting interview, Bruce even telling us about his limited knowledge of music but at least they played on the records and didn't cheat with session players like a lot of famous people did!
He mentions the 'Lonnie G ' chord. I discovered it myself many years ago when playing around with chords, it is also used on the intro to The Eagles 'Take It Easy'.

I take it that the interview was shot in Bruce's home. Does hye play any piano (Grand piano in the background) and noted keyboards in his studio?

A really interesting full of information interview. This really shoul be archived,it would be a pity to lose it. I often felt that something similar should be part of "Shadowmania" on a smaller scale with possibly a short Q&A session with say six questions drawn out of a hat, there must be lots of questions we'd all like to ask. Bruce as always comes across as the really nice guy we all know he is.

I think bruce tried a Q and A session years ago but hardly anyone asked anything - prob all too shy to speak out in front of the audience!

Far and the best interview with Bruce that I've seen - all the right questions from the very humbled Lee Hodgson. Interesting to see the way Bruce plays the open D chord and that he doesn't play bar chords.

Wow. I was going to cut the front hedge but I just had to keep watching, lovely to hear about the early days and also hearing those chords with no name!!

Cant wait to hear some of those in a weeks time.

Thanks for that.

I really enjoyed these videos and Bruce seems in great form, however, I think he is being far too modest with regard to his chord skills, whether he knows what they are called or not!! I watched a few YouTube clips including one I found of them playing Chelsea Boot back in the late '60s, and you can clearly see Bruce barreing the odd chord. And then, what about those tracks which feature semi-tone key-changes - there must have been a few Bbs and Ebs there, not to mention those tracks with diminished and augmented chords. He is definitely the Guv'nor when it comes to rhythm and chord progressions although I agreed he is not into the jazzy type of work. ;)

I think bruce always plays down his own abilities - some of the Shads tunes have very comlictaed chord secuences and he makes them so smoothly!
