The 7th January 1966 date for Stay Around comes straight from the EMI record sheets. Well, straight from those sheets via Roberto Pistolesi's database.

Slightly off topic, if you listen closely to the introduction of 'Stay Around' you can hear someone saying 'sorry about that'. Best heard on the stereo version. I can't identify who's voice it is though.

According to my sources "Stay Around" was recorded on 30 / 12 / 65. Even so - that being the final completed track on the album - 31st December (N Y Eve), January 1st (N Y Day) - the album surely can't have been pressed before 1966. Maybe they got ahead of themselves with some of the labels?? With a publishing date for all of the completed tracks of 1965?? But.....as it can't have been pressed up before 1966 & therefore not issued before 1966 then it's bizarre that a 1965 date would appear on the label.

Hi,
I've got a Mono pressing from Israel. That also gives a date of 1965. Everything is identical to the UK pressing so it may have been pressed in the UK for export although when I bought it the seller did assure me that it was pressed in Israel
