If my wife expected me to sit through three hours of rubbish just to see 15 minutes of Sirs Cliff and Paul, I'd divorce her for mental cruelty ... and I'm not even married.

I've just seen that Prince Philip has been hospitalised with a bladder infection. He will not have to attend tonights concert or indeed the rest of the celebrations. It was mentioned that he did not "use the facilities" or take a drink at all during yesterdays flotilla. I suspect that he deliberately dried out and that is probably why he has the infection, dangerous and un-necesary game to play at 91 years of age, I hope that he doesn't pay for it with his life.
I wholeheartedly agree with the idea that the money spent on the jubilee and the Olympics would be better spent putting the country right. Was the Queen asked if she wanted to have so much money spent on the Jubilee ? I doubt it. Were we asked if we wanted the Olympics ? I know that I wasn't. It's the Politicians and the likes of Seb Coe and Gary "Where's me Knighthood" Barlow who believe that they can distract the population from the state that the Country finds itself infor a while.
Sorry for being so serious, but there are times when it gets hard to ignore the outside world.

Seb Coe , Gary Barlow ?. Why pick on them ?. They ask for nothing cos they`ve earned a lot ?. What have you done apart from writing crap on the internet ?. I`m sorry for the Duke but you have to admire what he and The Queen have done for this country . And why shouldn`t we party ?. We`re a nation of moaners so a good excuse for a knees-up ?. This cost money but i`ll bet my last dollar this country made a lot of money from it too ! . Roll on the next ten years !. What esle do we have to party about ?. Take care .

Well let's hope Phillip's not been directly affected by yesterday. Seems a coincidence to me. I wrote the words above before I heard the news of his hospitalisation.

How old are the people who're ringing you Geoff--90 ?

friends of mine at yesterdays pagent? they are younger than me 40's and 50's, Oh and Cliff has just said on TV he was at yesterday's pagent.

I stood in my kitchen with a tear in my eye when they sung Land of Hope and Glory as yesterday's finalé

There's actually a lot of older artists apart from those I mentioned earlier, Cliff is on Elton John is as well Stevie Wonder and they're all OAP's like me, I'm not sure who you'd have older who can still perform.

But each to their own I guess and the concert is just starting.

I'll get me coat !
I have been caught out, I confess that I have done nothing but write crap on the internet.Perhaps I have been too busy trying to hold down a job and acting as a part time carer for my parents.
I have also broken the golden rule passed on to me by my grandfather, "Never discuss politics or religeon".
I am guilty of feeling sorry, for two elderly people, in which case I apologise.
I have not insulted or called into question anything that the Duke or the Queen have or have not done.
And I have found it difficuly to accept this Country upwards of £12 000 000 000 on the Olympics when we are supposed to be hard up.
In which case I AM GUILTY, Off with my head and Goodbye.
