Dick

Looks like a good site to me. Also noticed that BT's to the "The Spotnicks" and "Tornados" are included.

Best wishes

Hi All,

I have just had a listen through Detour and will put a BT in the next workout.
I don't think there is an available backing track for this but if there is please let me know.

Ian

Thank you for your response - that's good news and I know will be appreciated by a number of members of this site and The Duane Eddy Circle.
Incidentally, I think your latest workout BT's - "Workout 17" -are the best you,ve done up to press. I particularly like your version of "Twango".

Best wishes

If you are looking for decent Duane eddy backing tracks, may I suggest first Lick library do one that`s not bad at all, then there is someone on u-tube goes by the name of `Got Twang` does quite a few & provided you`re in a good reception area( I-phone,
Galaxy, HTC etc) you can connect from your earphone socket via a patch lead with small jack for phone & normal size for amp,
the drawback being is your phone will work ok at home, then when you get to the venue where you`re planning to play you find
there`s no ruddy signal , there`s another person agoston-backing tracks but does not appear to do discs only downloads & mp3
but they are decent at least,
Hope this helps as I would like to start a Duane eddy guitar club around the Watford area
if anyone else was interested (Burns batwing is good sub` if you can`t afford a Gretsch)
Regards

Speaking of "Detour" is there any reason why the intro on the album "Have twangy guitar will travel"on Detour is much longer than on the single version. And why is three thirty blues longer than on th EP version?

Without having actually listened to the tracks in question... I'll hazard a guess. They are different versions/ mixes/ edits. It is quite common.
The single version of 'Detour' would quite simply be a single mix... etc.. and the same thing would apply to 'Three Thirty Blues'.
My uneducated conclusion would be, if you want the definitive version, listen to the longer mix!
Jim Nugent et al will hopefully come up with a reply, slightly more informative, precise and thorough than that!
