Sounds like you had a great visit Bernie. A mate and I were granted access in around 1990/91 and all the old faces were still working there like Peter Vince etc. We were shown to some filing cabinets where all the recording paperwork was kept and given a free reign to photocopy what we wanted. Those were the days!!! We saw Studio 2 from the control room which is where I think Peter Vince was working when we were there. Knowing that Bruce hates any alternate versions coming out they compiled a special album of outtakes for his birthday one year and there were some howlers on there. Peter played us some of it. Some tracks sounded good to us though, including a slower version of a track from the Hank, Bruce, Brian and John album (can't recall the title without going thru reams of paperwork) and Hi Heel Sneakers, an unissued track meant for the 'Shades of Rock' album. We went to the canteen at lunchtimes and the old girl working there remembered all the old 60s groups.
There was a band sitting in the corner having lunch but no idea who they were.
I remember Peter thought John Farrar was a fine musician.
