A happy birthday to ShadowMusic!

I also remember the days of our community via the MSN domain, for me it started way back in September, 2000. Since then, I have seen many great discussions with a wealth of (for me) 'new' 'old' information on our favourite group. Also, it helped me to get acquainted to the 'real world', in which not every Shadows fan likes the same if not all of The Shadows' recorded music.

Yes indeed... Many thanks to Bob! ShadowMusic started in 1998 first of all on MSN - I worked for the company at the time and used the idea for this community as the test bed - and the community outlived the tech. We lived on another private server for a while, but disagreements with the owner led Bob to offer us this safe haven at his expense - hence the DONATE button. If you love this stuff, then please use it...

And Ecca? Not only the most prolific, but also the author of the most cheese cob related postings...

Young Mr Nugent has the most encyclopaedic knowledge of dates, places and recordings...

And Robbo has been the most tenacious - and sometimes outspoken - ambassador of this music for years. His experiments and sound file postings have been immensely helpful to so many folks...

(Incidentally, I was with Robbo on Friday. He's been incredibly brave in the face of cancer, has been through the mill and is now coming out the other side, though it's still early days. An inspiration...)

Happy birthday and thanks to all from me too. I'm not a prolific poster but read it almost daily and appreciate the input and information from everyone. I made my regular donation last month :)

Not only a top sound man ;) , but a generous and gracious host of a great website, too. Thanks, Bob. Your efforts are very much appreciated.

Crikey is it really four years since Bob created this ? HAPPY BIRTHDAY ! :)

In all of the different versions of the site since I joined in 1999, this has really been the icing on the cake as it has settled down to prove a reliable source of info for all things Shadows and associated equipment. I have gained many good friends here and although we are not as busy as once we were, there is a core of folks here that keep the site ticking over for which I am extremely grateful. The reason for the 'slow down' is simply that all of the subject matter has been discussed and problems solved over and over again, but there will always be the odd question from someone that someone else will know the answer to, or advice needed on a new product, so the site is invaluable as a vehicle to collect all of this info.
Also there are questions that appear from our continually growing new membership, so while the interest is still here for the music, our site is an important place for these folks to visit - Long may it continue !
For my part, I try to evaluate any new gear that may be of interest and pass on any useful info, especially when trying to trim the budget ! I must admit though it's getting tough with the amount of choice these days. 8-)
