I have it on very good authority that "The Early Years" should be with dealers by this coming Monday (Sept 16th). I've ordered my copy from Leo's Den - as I do try to support them, but.....can't deny that Sainsbury's will be selling it for £12.99 (P & p free - UK) and, as previously mentioned, Amazon for just £12.77 (P & P included - UK). Quite frankly - wherever you get it from, do get it....because it's a top quality product & a real bargain.

The Early Years 6 CD set reviewed in the latest Uncut magazine. Given 7 / 10 overall and a measly 5 / 10 for 'extras' (being the 3 new stereo mixes - all that was actually left to be mixed into stereo - and 31 mono tracks making their CD debuts - so 34 tracks first time on CD = 5 / 10! - Oh well....). Yes folks, by Monday - I would imagine that many of you could be in possession of the definitive Early Years set. Enjoy!!!!

The fact that any unheard extras exist at all 55 years on is pretty remarkable in itself.

I picked mines up from the delivery office as the postman came yesterday when i was at work, anyway i'm listening to it now. Sound quality is excellent, i've also read the booklet that came with it which was also excellent.
Currently on CD 3 (Foot Tapper is playing at the moment), very pleased with the set, even though i have some tracks about six or seven times over! This has filled the holes in my collection, i now have all their 60's tracks on CD.

Nice package, thanks to all involved. Just got mine and will be giving it a spin shortly.
My only gripe (so far !) is that it would have been nice to include a session listing. I wondered if during research for this any of those mysterious Jet ?/ Licorice ? tracks for the second lp were cleared up. Does anyone know when the Jet version of Guitar Tango and Bo Diddley were recorded and just what was that mysterious vocal track they apparently recorded while Jet was still in the band that was announced as probably being the follow up to Wonderful Land.
Nice to see the Shads on the world's greatest record label too ! Fab.
Thanks Rob, FBI Tony, Tim ,Peter et al. It's about time the Shads got a comprehensive and respectful package.
Now about that mono box and studio out takes cd....
