They started to make money after the success of Apache...
Bruce often played with borrowed instruments. I have seen him playing with a white Telecaster at the Paris Olympia in 1961 !

Yes, he had a white Tele too, but what's the point you're trying to make? You said in another thread that he didn't have the Jazzmaster at the time QS was recorded, that is also incorrect. :(

Ray,

I think the mike in front of Jet is picking up more than the ash tray. I think what you can see is the famous Pepe Rush cabinet with a baffle screen positioned either side of the front adjacent to it not to the sides and just revealing the speaker cones. Jet's lead would be going into the studio Leak amp, possibly that seen on the floor.

Ulrich, that is some really clever work and it's great to see that photo in such detail, thanks.

Keith

You are not wrong! I was mislead by the front fabric of the cabinet having a similar 'look' to that of the acoustic screen. Now I look again a glass of water? can be seen on the top of the cab.

Great thread. Wonderful to hear about all of the different amplifiers and microphones. Now, I have some further observations about "Apache" / "Quatermasster's Stores" - but I can't decide whether or not to post them in this thread (which is really about Alan attempting to determine whether or not the AC15s were used) - or to start a new thread about ".....Stores" and those other tracks where you can hear another guitar. Over to the 'readers' - new thread....or not??

Ray,

Actually I am slightly wrong. Looking again of course the speaker cabinet is to Jet's left, fully visible and the screens are to the left of it. Must get new glasses!

Start another thread Rob, as I said in an earlier post, that's another story, ;) although you might have to reconsider what The Shads have told you about Cliff playing guitar on their tracks.

OK Alan. Will do. I think that what I have discovered (and how I discovered it) will be of genuine interest.
