At the risk of getting severely told off, I have seen tons of different gear lugged into the North Notts meetings and have yet to hear anything better than the sound that Pete provides with his Boogie and echo. The gear that comes in and out is all good stuff, but I have yet to hear it sound as it can when used to it's potential. Usually there's too much bass and treble added and an over killing of echo volume. Last time I mentioned this a few years ago, someone took his bat and ball home and started his own site.
It isn't for me to tell everyone how they should use their gear, but instead of people chasing around looking for quick fixes in pedals and EQs and the latest gadget, they may find it beneficial to learn how to get the best from a guitar, echo and amp - it's all in there and it's all Hank had on stage back then.
