I listened to the Hank Marvin interview with Nicky Horne and, although uncomfortable at times, it was so interesting to hear Hank the human being instead of the whole "...Malaysian opera singer...2'I's...import ban...Joe Brown's echo etc. saga" which - great story though it is - I have heard about fifty thousand times! (and there it was again last Monday night on the Richard Hawley programme!) But in between listening to the Hank interview on Friday morning and going back to find the Bruce interview about an hour later, they both appear to have been deleted.

As was asked by Maurice (two posts above), is there still a link to these soundfiles anywhere?

Or might it be possible to receive copies by email? ;)

TIA,

Many thanks, Mark. Of course, we never heard those interviews here in the islands. They were very interesting.

I didn't know the rift between Hank and Bruce was so deep, but that is usually the case between close friends, because the expections are so high. I didn't know Bruce had a E-type, or XKE as we call them here. I hope there is a photo somewhere.

According to what he wrote in his book, at a time he had a Rolls-Royce...

Received the said issue (171) of Record Collector this morning.

Read from the perspective of 2012, the interviews with Hank and Bruce do indeed make for very interesting, intriguing and revealing reading. Slightly sad, here and that, but great to know that it did all end happily! Who would have thought it, reading these interviews in 1993, that such SPECTACULAR reunions would take place in the not too distant future...!!!

Speaking of which, I quickly realised, with some embarrassment, that I was one of those who had read these articles 19 years ago, as I used to have this magazine at the time! I have no idea where it went, for sure, but I suspect that I gave it to a friend who now lives about 20 minutes walk away!!! Ce'st la vie. Or however you spell it!!!!!

Mark, thank you very much for making these interviews available. I am looking forward to listening to them. I have never heard John Rostill's speaking voice, so that opportunity alone is very special to me. Thanks again.

Kind regards,
Donna
